“I go to nature to be soothed, healed and have my senses put in order” John Burroughs
Workshops

Terrarium
Workshops
A terrarium is a miniature garden, a perfect way to bring nature
indoors.
On our fun and hands on workshop you will learn how to choose the
most suitable plants as well as how to care for them. Then it is time to get dirty and create your very own, adding extra interest with accessories and making it unique.
All levels welcome. This is a great experience for an individual
or a group. Get in touch if you would like to organise a private class

Kokedama
Workshops
This Japanese planting style uses moss ‘koke’ to cover a plant’s root ball - ‘dama' meaning 'ball.' You will learn how to bind a mix of akadama soil and coco coir (peat substitute) in sphagnum moss which then holds the water and nutrients close to the root system, creating a 'moss ball' almost like a natural plant pot.
Kokedamas make for unique indoor plants and an intricate
decoration which can be suspended or stand independently in any room.

Bonsai workshops
Workshops
Developed thousands of years ago, the art of growing and miniaturizing trees in pots was believed to be able to harness the spiritual powers of nature in the ornamental plantings both within gardens and indoors.
Nowadays, the hobby is seeing a rise in popularity for its convenient miniature size making it perfect for small spaces and this creative beginners workshop takes a contemporary and uncomplicated approach to this old practice.
Learn the skills needed to create an indoor bonsai tree from your everyday ficus plant, as well as getting lots of tips on how to care for and maintain your tree for years to come.
As we will be using pruning shears and small wires, this workshop won’t be suitable for children. All materials and tools are provided.

Wabi Kusa workshops
Workshops
This unique form of Japanese aquascaping grows aquatic plants on a ball of substrate inside a glass container, creating a moist environment where the vegetation can thrive.
The aquatic plants become naturalised to the air over a few weeks and are simple to look after - the leaves and substrate just need to be kept moist and placed where there is plenty of light. Wabi (meaning 'aesthetic' or 'imperfectly beautiful') Kusas (meaning 'from grass or plant') make for unique miniature gardens for the home.
All the plants and materials you will need are provided. Please note that this is for the more confident gardener.
