Ben Rogers cards
Botanical cards from local artist Ben Rogers
Ben Rogers is a London-based printmaker and textile designer. A graduate of Winchester College of Art, he has enjoyed a career in the fashion textile industry designing for clients such as Louis Vuitton, Zara and Anthropologie. He began making still life prints in 2019 and now works from his Hackney studio producing textiles for a select group of clients, alongside his own fine art prints.
His print work explores traditions of still life painting and the depiction of flora. Fascinated by mark, line, texture and composition, Ben’s work is inspired by and reinterprets Japanese painting techniques through the lens of 19th century modernism. Placed in a half-glimpsed domestic world of fragmentary colour and pattern, light and shadow, his floral vignettes combine a boldness of execution with a reflective quality that evokes the votive traditions of oriental flower arranging.
